Treasurer – Tony Reynolds OBE

Tony spent most his working career with the construction company, Gilbert-Ash – as CEO 1988-2003 and then in a non-executive role as chairman. He is a Trustee of Lloyds Bank Foundation NI and Giving Inc. Tony has been involved in Caring Breaks since 2001. He has been instrumental in developing robust financial systems and procedures for the organization in his role as chairman of the Finance Sub Group. Tony is also member of Rotary and has many other charitable interests.

Company Secretary – Vivienne Thompson

A Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Ireland, Vivienne trained at PriceWaterHouseCoopers and is currently Finance Manager at the Construction Employers Federation. A member of the board of directors since 2003, Vivienne is also a member of the Finance Sub Group.

George S Moore, MBE

George was a member of the steering group that helped to establish Caring Breaks as a company. A family carer, George and his wife Ruby care for their daughter Elizabeth, who has Downs Syndrome. George’s early career was in engineering, first at Harland and Wolff and then at the Department of Health and Social Services. He has many interests in the charitable sector and was formerly a trustee of the NI Special Olympics Trust and the Orchardville Society.

George Hamilton

George’s early career was as a journalist, initially with the Belfast Telegraph before joining the NI Government Information Service. He is also a former head of Corporate Communications with the IDB and chairman of the Institute of Public Relations NI. George joined the board in 2008 and has helped develop and design communication aids including the latest brochure for the company.

Rachel Barrett

Rachel has personal experience of the Caring Breaks service. A family carer for her son Peter, the family has been using the service for a number of years. Rachel also sits on the Carer Sub Group which helps to pursue the interests of carers. Rachel has been involved in voluntary work for many years with several organisations, particularly with groups for parents of children with disabilities.

Stephen O’Brien

Stephen brings a wealth of front line professional and management experience to his role as board member. He joined Caring Breaks after his retirement as Head of Adult Services at the South & East Belfast H&SS Trust. Stephen has a strong track record in partnership working with the voluntary sector built over many years. He is also a member of the Finance Sub Group.

Liam Nellis

Liam brings a wealth of business experience at both local and international level to his role of director. Liam joined the NI Civil Service in 1973 where he held a variety of posts over the years. Most recently he was CEO of IntertradeIreland until his retirement in 2012. A member of the Council of the University of Ulster and advisor to the National Competitive Council Dublin, he has many charitable interests and has been a member of the board of Caring Breaks since 2009.
