Our Vision

The vision of Caring Breaks is one where every family carer in NI will have the opportunity to take regular respite breaks from their caring role and every adult with a learning disability will be supported to become fully involved in society.

Our Mission

Caring Breaks’ mission is to provide regular respite breaks to family carers enabling them to enjoy some of the things others take for granted and to provide social and personal development opportunities for adults with a learning disability.

Our Aims

  • To relieve the burden of continuous care felt by family carers by providing a safe, reliable, flexible and high quality respite service.
  • Reduce social isolation and promote inclusion for carers and adults with a learning disability.
  • Encourage community participation for people with a learning disability through supervised social and recreational activities.
  • Recruit and develop staff and volunteers to implement company objectives and to promote the organisation within the wider community.
  • Create dynamic partnerships between Caring Breaks and other voluntary, community and statutory organisations that are committed to meeting the needs of carers and adults with a learning disability.
